On this special day, there is a special discount of -20% on day tickets and packages AND the new music video of the EURO song ‘Live Is Life’, which was re-recorded by OPUS and the Schick Sisters with adapted lyrics, will be released.
September 2nd marks the 40th anniversary of the live recording of the global hit ‘Live Is Life’, which was composed by guitarist Ewald Pfleger. The song was finally released on 11 November 1984. The rest, as they say, is history.
100 days before Austria opens the Women’s EHF EURO 2024 in Innsbruck against Slovakia, the new video for the official EURO song is now also being released.
Schick Sisters & OPUS Band: Live Is Life (‘Catch The Spirit-Version’)
A mix of handball action, stage performances and plenty of emotion heralds the countdown to the biggest European Women’s Handball Championship of all time, with 24 nations for the first time.
For the so-called ‘Catch the spirit’ version, based on the official claim of the Women’s EHF EURO 2024, the text was adapted in certain places for the major event. It reads: ‘When we all catch the spirit, we all catch the best’!
Ewald Pfleger, guitarist OPUS Band: ‘This year marks the 40th anniversary of our song “Live Is Life” and we are delighted to be able to revive our hit in a slightly modified version. We hope that the song will inspire fans and players alike at the European Women’s Handball Championship in November & December and that we can play our part in ensuring that this European Championship will be remembered forever. We are convinced that ‘Live Is Life’ is perfectly suited to this major sporting event and that our global hit will continue to resound in European handball arenas in the future.’

Fans can also look forward to discounted tickets for this special countdown. Discounts are available on tickets in all categories for the preliminary round matches in Innsbruck and the main round matches in Vienna. The discount is available in the online shop on 20 August from 0:00 to 23:59.
